Presented by Peter Young
Marquetry is the art of making pictures with wood or veneer. In this two day course you will learn the basics of the double bevel cutting method which we will use to make two sample pictures. On day 1 we will make a leaf picture to introduce you to handling and cutting veneer, using hot sand shading to provide contrast, methods for gluing veneer to a substrate and finishing methods. On day 2 we will make a flower picture, introducing additional techniques and the use of coloured veneers.
This is a excellent opportunity to learn the double bevel marquetry system with acclaimed Australian furniture maker Peter Young.
